You may not have succeeded in
grabbing a share of facebook when it was floated a few days
ago but now at least you can share in the new Travel à la

addition to the ways in which we keep in touch and communicate
with everyone. Becoming our friend on facebook will enable you
to be first to learn of our best deals and will give you
access to all the photos of your favourite Greek islands.
The idea behind the page is to publish photographs of Paxos,
Kefalonia and our other Greek islands, including the
photographs people send us after their holidays. We will also
list and keep people updated with any Late Availability and
Special Offers we have, as well as providing all the latest
news from Paxos, Kefalonia and our other islands.
To join us on facebook, follow this link or click on the
facebook logo in the top right-hand corner of our new website.

25 May 2012: Announcing the new
Travel à la carte website.
It is well known that travel is
one of the most popular fields of human interest and activity
on the internet. We at Travel à la carte caught on to the
internet phenomenon quite early, launching our first website
in 1998 and switching over from printed brochures to the web
alternative in 2004. Ever since then, our web presence has
been at the heart of our marketing strategy.
The internet is a fast-moving medium and all companies but
especially those in travel need to move with it. Our original
website was attractive to look at and served its purpose well.
But what it lacked was one or two key functions, which
software development was rapidly bringing within the reach of
smaller independent businesses. These were the ability to
search availability and to book online.
So I am delighted to let you know that our new website, which
incorporates both these functions, is now live. On it you can
search by destination and date, review all our special offers
and book the property of your choice online. The availability
of all our accommodation is updated instantaneously in real
time, so that you can book and make a payment for the property
of your choice at any time of day or night. A confirmation of
your reservation is sent to you automatically and without
delay once you have booked. Welcome to the new online world of
the 21st century!
More automation, however, does not mean any less personal a
service to our customers. In fact, we expect the opposite.
With many more of the “back office” operations automated, our
dedicated and experienced staff will have more time to devote
to the more detailed and complex queries which the discerning
traveller wants answering. So we hope you will find that there
is an all-round improvement in our service. (And for our Paxos
clients, it should certainly mean you’ll be seeing a bit more
of Chris, who has been hidden from sight for several weeks,
testing and retesting the new
So please visit the new Travel à la carte website when you
have a moment and try it out. A Greek holiday has never been
easier to book!
23 Feb 2012:
Travel à la carte offers a
full welcome service for all its guests on the Greek islands.
The service varies from island to island.
For our clients staying on Paxos, the service includes being
met by our staff on arrival at Corfu airport, a taxi or taxis
from the airport to the port, seats booked and tickets
provided in advance for the hydrofoil crossing to Paxos, being
met by our local staff on arrival on Paxos and a prearranged
taxi on Paxos for onward transfer to the accommodation. On the
return, there are prebooked taxis from the villa to the port,
prepurchased seats on the hydrofoil and a taxi from the port
in Corfu to the airport.
For our Kefalonia clients, all of whom pick up a hire car on
arrival, the service includes meet and greet at Argostoli
airport on arrival and departure.
On Symi, the service is similar to that offered for Paxos, and
includes all taxi transfers between Rhodes airport and the
port, the ferry crossings to Symi and back, and luggage
transfers between the harbour and your accommodation on Symi.
The cost of the welcome service varies with the size of the
party and the age of its members. As a guide, for a party of
four the charge will be £75 per person and £60 per child of
ten and under. A couple travelling together should expect to
pay around £85 each. Single travellers should expect to pay
more, because of single occupancy of taxis, while sea
transfers by private water taxi carry supplements in
accordance with the party size, with the smaller the party,
the higher the supplement. There is no charge for the meet &
greet service on Kefalonia.
A starter pack of basic provisions is included in the cost of
the meet and greet service on all our islands.
